New chiral ferrocenyldiphosphine ligand for catalytic asymmetric transfer hydrogenation
New chiral ferrocenyldiphosphine ligands (R)-(S)-3 and (R)-(S)-4 were prepared. The ligands were employed in Ru(II) catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones to give corresponding secondary alcohols. Up to 99% conversion with 90% e.e. was obtained on Ru(DMSO)4Cl2/4 in transfer hydrogenation of acetophenones with propan-2-ol. © 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
متن کاملDioxygenation of the biphenyl dioxygenation product.
Two biphenyl dioxygenases (BphAs) were shown to catalyze dioxygenation of biphenyldienediol in the nonoxidized ring to form the respective symmetrical biphenyl-bis-dienediol. This novel metabolite served as a growth substrate for both BphA source strains. Its catabolism through the upper bph pathway of Burkholderia xenovorans LB400 was analyzed.
متن کاملChiral Auxiliaries in Asymmetric Synthesis
Background The use of chiral auxiliaries in the synthesis of enantiomerically pure compounds has found wide application for a variety of reactions over the last three decades. Despite the extensive developments in this area by many academic and industrial research groups, new auxiliary controlled reactions continue to evolve frequently [1]. First objectives in this area have been to develop chi...
متن کاملDesign of bifunctional chiral phenanthroline ligand with Lewis basic site for palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution.
Conceptually new bifunctional chiral ligands were developed. The axially chiral N,N-bidentate phenanthroline ligand (S)-1 was found to be effective for Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution of allyl acetate and dialkyl malonate. The intramolecular Lewis basic group from the hydroxybinaphthyl structure of (S)-1 played a pivotal role in the high reactivity and enantioselectivity.
متن کاملEvaluation of a chiral cubane-based Schiff base ligand in asymmetric catalysis reactions
Recently, a novel chiral cubane-based Schiff base ligand was reported to yield modest enantioselectivity in the Henry reaction. To further explore the utility of this ligand in other asymmetric organic transformations, we evaluated its stereoselectivity in cyclopropanation and Michael addition reactions. Although there was no increase in stereocontrol, upon computational evaluation using both M...
